Rascals - our new Furbaby

Rascals comes to us from Miami Co Animal Shelter. There were some awesome dogs in the shelter Tuesday when I went and the sad eyes asking to be taken home were a bit unbearable. Wish I had a big ole farm because I would have taken quite a few of them with me that day. An Akita that was just as handsome as can be and well mannered, a lil pug whom was just adorable. But Rascals sat beside me, and soon as I sat down he lifted his paw to me like a little gentleman and liked my hand. There is still Chivalry left in the world!
Now yesterday I opened the door to bring groceries in and though he was sitting when I told him to sit, he took it upon himself to start a game of seek and find. Out the door he ran, and my groceries were left to the moment. If you ever want to meet your neighbors get yourself a dog that runs! Everyone in the neighborhood will be out to find out who you are yelling for and why you are in their backyard. Some as my new friends Katie, Maddie and Emily and another new friend Noah, helped me try to round this lil guy up to no avail. I met a really nice gal name Brenda who didn't get mad at me because her dog went through their screen door. She was just happy to meet me too! I will have to get back over to chat with her again. Dogs bring the best dog owners together for sure!
Oh and by the way, we never did catch Rascals, rather when I decided I had enough of searching I yelled to him I was tired and going home and if he wanted supper he better follow. He took off again and I was a bit frightened that I would not find him. But as I came around the corner, there was my husband and there was Rascals. Hubby asked if I thought it was a good idea to let Rascal run loose, and I said... oh yeah... its a great idea. I just got in about 2 miles of walking in less then an hour. Hes a great walking companion. (yes I bit my tongue). I went to the door, yelled come on Rascal time to go in and Rascal followed behind, I hugged him and praised him for coming home and gave him a treat. Rascal jumped in his bed and fell asleep! Boy was I happy and exhausted! Got a walk in, met several new neighbors and know my dog knows his way home already! I am a proud Pomeranian mixed Owner!!!

Tags and Laughter

With all my craft supplies packed for the move, I was ecstatic to have left out some of my Ranger Distress Inks. I also had a Dabber bottle of white Acrylic Paint and used it as the background on the Spring Tag. Since the stamp was a reverse art I was able to sponge the ink into the open areas of the flower and then hand drew the black images that had been stamped. I wiped off the excess ink giving it a two tone look! I would have added the ribbon but it too is packed. I so hate moving! But I have to say that in our new home we have a 2nd bedroom that is going to be my personal craft room! My hubby painstakingly moved each of my gazillion boxes up 2 steps of flights (not to mention the flights of steps at our old house) and carefully delivered them safely to their new destination. (Thank you my love!).
On the laugh card, using the same distress inks (only 3 but they mix into other colors quite well) I used the Foamies column's for blending my colors and then dabbed them to look like bubbles. Again, I would have added a ribbon somewhere but they are all packed.
Hope you enjoy!!!

Changing Leaves - (chapter 1)
She walked down the isle of the grocery store. Talking to her husband and picking out shampoo. Just an ordinary evening. Noticing a gal coming down the isle opposite of her she noticed a familiar face. In this small little town it was quite common to run into another girlfriend, PTA member, Band Parent, Sports coach, Teacher, Pastor, anybody. But today the face is of someone distant, more defined than usual, almost like time elapsing appears out of no where. With every step of this known stranger, another glimpse of the past stood out. Every step a gasp was taken. Heart beating rapidly, but standing still almost motionless. Thump, one heart beat. The past creeping ever so near. Every foot step again so slow motion and meaningful. The face of the stranger, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, a mom. In an instant she calls out to her. Are you Katherine? Is your name Katherine? The distant familiar face turns, she looks at her. Yes. Yes my name is Katherine and who might you be?
Stunned, almost with tears. She hugs this long lost shadow of her past. This stranger not knowing that she, without any idea or apprehension would become the very link to a story untold, a lost puzzle piece of life unfolded. Spontaneous combustion. Fireworks, explosions, demolition, Kaboom. Her being, her spirit has turned night to day and the past to future.
Her smile so familiar and yet so unknown changes the very course of Priscilla's direction in life and her desires of life as she once knew it. Changed at this precise moment. Tattered pieces suddenly fall into place.
Some twenty six years ago, Priscilla's mother has passed away leaving her to the challenges of a man left bitter, angry and cold. A world that over the course of the years would leave Priscilla in the tail winds of life. A grave left unattended, and a story yet to be completed.
This November day marks the day of celebration and excitement as Priscilla unveils the truths of her past and the love of her destiny.
